This weekend, I went hiking at Bear Mountain State park on Saturday, camped out overnight, and did a spirited drive with some Miatas and other like mined car enthusiasts. The hiking was nice and challenging and offered some glorious view points of the Hudson River, Bear Mountain Bridge, fall foliage, and even NYC in the distance. Even though it got down to 29 degrees when I woke up, camping was still very fun too.
The Hudson River is pretty majestic from up here.
Sweet bridge, drove over it on Sunday to get some lunch. Fun fact, it is the cheapest crossing on the Hudson River south of Albany.
Some trees were at peak color but overall it was still in the changeover phase. I’m thinking peak will occur around Halloween.
Anof course on Sunday I had a lot of fun driving the very twisty roads. Top down the whole day naturally.
There were a ton of other groups out there driving today too. All sorts of fun cars including other Miatas and a huge group of 50+ s2ks! A very fun time and a good way to celebrate my favorite season.

I LOVE going up there for a hike as well as flogging my car around! Damn I wish I would’ve known so many people were up there today, I would’ve tried to go. I love hooning my car around and stopping to take pictures of the scenery.
If you go back at any point this fall or next spring hit me up!

Wanna see some really nice sights? Try going up by Canton, NY. It’s gonna be about as cold as Hoth soon but the leaves are amazing and I think there’s some good roads. Really anywhere in the Adirondacks is amazing this time of year.

Yeah it was kinda crazy how many people were up there just driving. Bear Mountain (like the scenic area at the top) was a madhouse though lol. I will definitely be back at some point.

Hnnng the Jalop is strong with that lineup. That must be, like, 65% of the GT86s and Miatas in NYC Metro right there ;)

Haha Hoth is an accurate description. It even snowed a little bit today!

You must see so many nice cars all the time then! I didn’t know it was such a car attraction!

Yeah even the cobalt ss was very jalop and not rice. Method injection was hilariously obnoxious though, I loved that part. My favorite though is definitely the Z!

Idk exactly but the one guy in our group with the s2k was saying how there was a huge group of around 50 or so coming up later on. We passed by a huge group when we were leaving over the Bear Mountain Bridge.

They are some of the best driving roads within reasonable driving distance of NYC!

Makes sense, glad to have found it!

I KNOW! I woke up at 6AM and there was about a 1/2 in on the car and I was so happy. Earliest snow I can remember. My area’s high is 40*F tomorrow.

Going to be much warmer down here this week thankfully. Lows in the upper 40s, highs in the 60s. That is my ideal warm weather. Although I certainly enjoy the 30s, I just have to reacclimate to the cold.

I live on the shores of Lake Ontario. Winters down state are nothing like what we get. Can’t wait for the 30mph winds with -10*F wind chills. Oh that’s gonna be great fun.

As long as you have snow, I would consider it fun. I wish it would snow every single day of winter. There would be no way to unfuck the traffic and other problems that would occur, but I would certainly enjoy winter more! Definitely would make the nearby ski mountains 100% better with real snow.

The mountains up here get some real snow! They do have snow machines for early season and late season skiing though. It’s nice being up north in the winter.

Yeah PA and NJ rarely have real snow. This is why I have a season pass to Sugarbush in Vermont lol.
